What is a Closing? The "Closing" is the only time during the weekend that the outside community can support the inmates. Generally 20 to 70 folks who are not part of the team will attend the special "Closing ceremony." Many of the men on the weekend have not had a single visitor is several years and when all these visitors show up it is a final act of agape that can break shell of some who have resisted until this point. It is a very easy way to be in mission to these men. Please consider attending a Closing. What Happens at a ClosingDuring the ceremony, an inmate who has benefited from the program will talk to the men who are just completing their weekend and will give a 4th Day Talk. Following the 4th Day Talk the men who completed the weekend will be allowed to go to an open mike and tell what the weekend has meant to them. This is a very emotional time, and the presence of the Holy Spirit can not be missed. Depending on time and the availability of security officers the "closing community" might be allowed to meet and talk with the men who have just completed their weekend. |
